Privacy & cookies

This is my personal portfolio site, and I keep the data it collects to an absolute minimum. Here is exactly what happens when you visit.

Language preference

When you switch the site to another language, your choice is stored in a single functional cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) so the site remembers it next time. It only ever contains "en" or "nl", it is not used to track you, and it is never shared with anyone. If you never change the language, no cookie is set at all.

Analytics

I use Vercel Web Analytics to see aggregate visitor numbers and which pages people read. It is deliberately privacy-friendly: it uses no cookies, stores no personal data, and does not follow you across other websites. Vercel processes these anonymous statistics on my behalf.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, their servers may briefly process technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. This data is not used for advertising.

Your rights and contact

Under the GDPR you can always ask to access, correct or delete any personal data. Because this site sets no tracking cookies and has no user accounts, there is very little to act on, but if you have any questions you can reach me at danneels.gilles@hotmail.com.
